Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.
St Francis de Sales’ Catholic Primary School Woolooware is passionate about teaching our students how to make a difference in the world by reaching out to others in need. We encourage our students to participate and contribute to the local and global community by supporting Caritas Project Compassion, St Vincent de Paul initiatives with the Winter and Christmas Appeals, visits to Stella Maris Nursing Home, One Meal Volunteering for the Homeless and Mercy Works Action Group Market Day.
By being involved in varying social justice initiatives the students are able to experience and live out their faith in a real way.
‘Our love is not just words and actions but something real and active.’ (John 1:3)
