We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
At St Francis de Sales’ Catholic Primary School Woolooware parents are invited to see ‘learning in action’ with open classroom showcase days each term. Opportunities throughout the year are given for Meet the Teacher, parent/teacher interviews, parent information sessions and weekly assemblies.
Supporting the school
The parent community at St Francis de Sales’ plays an important role in strengthening the ties between home, school, parish and the wider community by contributing in various ways. The Parents and Friends Association (P&F) and Parent Rep Fundraising group meet regularly each term to discuss and organise fundraising and social events. Parents are also encouraged to volunteer as parent helpers in the classroom, on excursions and in the canteen.
Communication
Open communication with parents is encouraged as a working partnership between home and school. We communicate with parents through a fortnightly newsletter, Compass information system app, email and phone. Parents are able to contact the school directly to make inquiries or appointments.
